I have looked at this over 10 times in the past few days that it has been in my inbox. Clicking on it and not deleting it because I wanted to comment on it but i wanted it to be a meaningful comment not just a WOW or AMAZING. (even though it is those things, i think this deserves a lot more)
These colors and tones are inspiring! it makes me want to speed paint. I have long admired your backgrounds. and I continue to see improvement even with studies like this. I know i always struggle with creating distance. I can never stretch the viewers eye very far. But this does it spectacularly ! that horizon line then the farther back mountain range.. the lion-esk figure crossing a bit closer to our eye then the lit up grass in the bottom left.. i can really picture what it would be like to be standing in this moment.
The colors are brilliant! there are so many tones and overlapping and mixing just as the sky should be. i love the paint-ery like quality (ofcourse its a speed paint) but i just love when digital art gives you the feel that it is a canvas - to me that makes it even more successful. not that i wouldnt love to see this image refined more but as is it is lovely.
did you use a picture of reference? id love to see works in progress, how long did this take?
i am sorry i am full of questions. I know the best thing to do is to practice. i know i am not even close to the level you are at with your art but i just wanted to take the time to tell you why i love it. now i can fav. it with out a guilty conscious.
keep up the great work! sorry again for the wall of text!
